We successfully completed the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange project, reference number 2024-1-LV02-KA152-YOU-000200378, titled "Together We Unite, Together We Stand." The project, hosted by the coordinating organization We As One (Latvia), took place in Riga, the capital of Latvia, from December 15-21, 2024. Young people from various countries, including Turkey, Portugal, Spain, Ukraine, and Austria, came together.
This meaningful project highlighted the challenges faced by individuals forced to flee their countries due to war, conflict, oppression, and economic crises. Through workshops, simulations, discussions, and creative activities held throughout the project, participants gained a more in-depth perspective on the challenges faced by refugees. By developing empathy, the young people contributed to raising social awareness.
The project also inspired young people to actively participate in refugee support processes by encouraging them to participate in volunteering activities. By inclusively including participants from disadvantaged groups in the process, concrete steps were taken in social cohesion and equal opportunities.
As a partner organization from Austria, we were very proud to participate in the project. This project was invaluable not only in solidarity with refugees but also in raising the visibility of the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ program. By working together, we combined the power of empathy and solidarity with the energy of young people.
